Media 10 has announced, with regret, a postponement of Design Joburg presented by Sanlam Private Wealth, following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus. The event will now take place from 24-26 July – the venue remains the Sandton Convention Centre.
The current travel bans – impacting attendees, exhibitors, and speakers as well as the show’s global buyers’ programme – plus the latest measures announced by the South African government have made it unfeasible for Media 10 to present Design Joburg presented, by Sanlam Private Wealth, this May as originally planned.
While the postponement is disappointing, Media 10 believes it to be the sensible course of action given the circumstances. The health and safety of visitors, exhibitors, clients and staff is paramount. The delay also allows foreign patrons the chance to participate in the show.
Rob Nathan, Director at Media 10 stated “Media 10 continues to monitor the advice from the National Department of Health and the World Health Organisation, but we believe that the new event dates will ensure the delivery of a successful show. We have not taken this decision lightly, but we have the well-being of all those involved in this event at the forefront of our thoughts and plans”.
In the meantime, Media 10 looks forward to welcoming everyone to this lauded event come July 2020.
