PATTERNS
Patterns, Colours
& Curves
by KARE
ontinuing the trend towards
health and wellness, interior
Cdesigners, experts and architects
are incorporating natural, tranquil
elements and colours into projects and
products.
This manifests in softer, more rounded
shapes that are reminiscent of the designs
of the 1970s, where curves and natural
waves are favoured above the hard
lines and sharp edges of post-modern
minimalist design.
Colours and curves can help to create
the illusion of a bigger or smaller room.
In a small room with limited natural light,
lighter colours and curvy elements help to
soften the room and extend the eyeline to
create the illusion of space.
In a larger room, incorporate darker
colours and create focal points with
curved accents to create a comfortable
and cosy space.
Curves work equally well in a traditional
setting as in a contemporary scheme,
so if you’re looking to subtly add curves
to your space, mirrors or artwork with
curved frames are a beautiful way to add
interest and create a focal point within a
room, without the need to redesign the
entire layout.
